I RAN A CAFE AT 3800 M ABOVE SEA LEVEL

I wanted to work on-ground and get my hands dirty. After I quit my job, I found myself 3800 m above sea level, in Kaza, running the incredible Sol Cafe tucked away in the Himalayas.

Power cuts, water shortages, and -10°C mornings - running a cafe here wasn’t just work, it was an endurance sport.

But every day brought new lessons. This was my first brush with sustainability, and a reminder that the world is much, much bigger than any comfort zone.

I MANAGED A RESORT AT 11,700 FT ABOVE SEA LEVEL

I cooked, I did math, I took guests on rounds and found myself managing a resort team at 11,700 feet in Ladakh - where the oxygen is thin but the views are infinite.

From fixing broken heaters to welcoming guests fresh off the flight, every day demanded a new hat. And a whole lot of hustle.

I broke my cubicle and found myself overlooking the Stok Range. High-altitude hospitality was never part of the plan, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

WORKSHOPPING CONFIDENCE WITH THE WOMEN OF UMANG

Tata Communications works closely with Umang - an initiative that supports women from underserved communities through skill development and financial literacy. I had the chance to lead a workshop focused on storytelling and brand building, and walked away having learned just as much as I taught.
